What safety devices are included in our Pick & Carry that ensure their total safety?
LMI (LOAD MOMENT INDICATOR)
The LMI System is the electronic load indicator and tilting moment limiting system. It is a safety device, a legal requirement, that guarantees our Pick & Carry the highest performance standards while maintaining the total versatility of the crane under absolutely safe conditions. This special configuration of JMG's LMI System is possible thanks to an extremely careful design carried out by the R&D Department that takes into account all possible configurations of the machine.
The LMI system comes into operation when the machine starts up and, thanks to a calculation algorithm that cross-references the data collected by the angle-wire sensor located on the arm (which virtually reconstructs the position of the load) with the measurements of the pressure transducers mounted on the lifting cylinder, it derives the load lifted and, if necessary, stops the machine to keep it in a safe condition.
This special configuration of JMG's LMI System is possible thanks to an extremely careful design carried out by the R&D Department that takes into account all possible machine configurations.

Last Friday, May 20, JMG Cranes took part in Be Innovation, the conference organized annually in Cremona by Bollino Etico Sociale, which this year touches on the theme “Social Innovation, the contribution of the individual for the common good.”
We were delighted to accept the invitation to participate as speakers in this event where companies and professionals who do Social Innovation tell their stories and share experiences.

After JDL in France, Matexpo in Belgium and Marmomac in Verona, it's the turn of GIS, in Piacenza. Last of the four fairs in which JMG Cranes has participated in little more than a month, the Piacenza event comes to crown a new-found meeting and talking with customers that had been missing for more than a year, for the well-known reasons. The Cremona-based company has also chosen the Piacenza event as the one in which it will be most involved, thanks to a double stand that will welcome visitors who access the event from the main entrance, crossing it precisely because it develops by integrating lane C of Hall 1 into its layout.
JMG Cranes' presence at GIS makes a strong impact on visitors. In addition to the previously mentioned location of the stand and its doubled layout that will host most of GIS’s visitors, the massive presence of machines will complete the experience. As of writing this article, the list of models expected at GIS is quite extensive: MC45S, MC70S, MC100S, MC130S, MC180S, and, last but not least, MC22.5RE. While these are not new models (for which JMG Cranes has decided to organize a dedicated event—details of which can be found in the “Off-Salon” section), the selection of these models is a very thoughtful one, as together they provide visitors with a comprehensive overview of the pick & carry range (and more) offered by JMG Cranes. Not to mention, all of these models have undergone a major redesign in the last 18 months, and the MC22.5RE is a new model launched on the market at the beginning of 2021. New this edition are the areas that will be set up within the JMG stand: a training area, where operational training with the cranes will take place, and a computerized area where JMG engineers will show visitors how the design of the brand’s electric cranes takes place.

How much does an object weigh? The answer to a question that seems trivial at first glance becomes complicated when we take into analysis particularly bulky objects, whose weight is represented by an abstract number that is difficult to place in the real world.
Still, getting a feel for it is crucial, especially in a technical field: representing data in a concrete way allows us to better understand the context of use and the potential of machinery designed to lift large weights. That is why we at JMG have taken up the challenge of tell about the capabilities of our cranes resorting to numerous examples, sometimes even bizarre and surprising ones.
Specifically, we asked ourselves what corresponds to, in business but not only, the weight that is able to lift our MC25S radio-controlled crane, from the maximum capacity of 2.5 tons. This model features traction on the front wheels with counter-rotations, four-position swiveling head, detachable ballast, and hydraulic boom with sequential and proportional extension-meaning that the boom components all come out the same length together.
The machine thus offers excellent performance in different contexts, ensuring maximum efficiency. Testifying to this is also the thought experiment we performed and whose results we are about to reveal.
So, how much weight can the MC25S crane handle? We found that this machinery could lift a superb white rhino, a species widespread on the African continent and formerly at serious risk of extinction. On average, these animals weigh precisely 2.5 tons, although there are specimens that are close to 4,000 pounds. Staying in the animal world, our model can easily lift from the ground even two adult giraffes: Despite their “slender” appearance, long-necked animals can weigh up to 1.25 tons.
But let's close this nice parenthesis by going into Application fields more “congenial” to the crane. Our MC25S model can easily move two small hydraulic presses designed for the assembly of mechanical components, as long as they are not too high or excessively long. In addition, it can raise a weight equivalent to a dozen horizontal steel tanks carbon of about 200 kilograms or equal to five 500-pound piston compressors, effective and versatile.
And again, it could easily raise from the ground two large diameter steel pipes, with a thickness greater than 15 mm, one ton each (measurements permitting).
In the construction field, then, the MC25S is also used to lift and apply the glass panes of buildings and the windows of commercial activities, weighing about 600 kilograms.
Like the other battery-powered electric radio-controlled models from JMG Cranes, MC25S allows maneuvers to be carried out with great ease even in environments with limited space. In addition, with the ability to perform movements remotely, workers can operate safely. These models are high performance, quiet and fun to operate. In addition, they are customizable and can perform to their full potential in different industries. And although in reality it is unlikely that our crane will find itself having to lift a rhinoceros or two giraffes, we hope that our experiment “what do they correspond to 2.5 tons“ was helpful in understanding the incredible performance of the model.

Quando si tratta di sollevare pesi importanti, non si può fare a meno di strumenti efficaci, performanti e versatili. È infatti un'operazione particolarmente delicata, in cui occorre garantire la piena sicurezza agli operatori, una grande precisione e la capacità di intervenire in contesti non sempre agevoli per macchinari dalle dimensioni importanti.
È proprio per soddisfare questi requisiti che entrano in azione le pick&carry cranes, gru semoventi elettriche progettate per alzare da terra e movimentare grossi carichi con la massima efficienza e rapidità. Attenzione però: non esiste un unico modello, ma più tipologie per venire incontro a tutte le esigenze operative e alle caratteristiche degli ambienti in cui si andrà ad agire.
Vediamole più nel dettaglio, per capire cosa hanno da offrire e i vantaggi che portano agli addetti nei settori industriali ed edili.
Le gru radiocomandate, con o senza cabina, sono gru semoventi pensate per compiere manovre ottimali in spazi limitati. Attraverso l’uso del radiocomando l’operatore può eseguire tutti i movimenti in totale sicurezza. Grazie alle loro dimensioni compatte e alla posizione frontale degli stabilizzatori (optional), possono spostarsi anche in ambienti ristretti, come ad esempio i corridoi o gli spazi, spesso ridotti all’osso, che si creano all’interno degli impianti di produzione.
Sono modelli molto flessibili: sono dotati di trazione sulle ruote anteriori con controrotazione e zavorre smontabili, mentre il radiocomando agisce sulla trazione, lo sterzo e i movimenti di braccio/ argano e accessori. Inoltre, i software e gli accessori stessi possono essere personalizzati, in modo da adattarsi al meglio alle diverse esigenze. La sicurezza è garantita dalla diagnostica da remoto, mentre i radiocomandi permettono alle gru di non interferire tra loro se sono all'interno dello stesso ambiente.
Tutti i macchinari di questa categoria possono montare optional differenti per soddisfare ogni genere di necessità: tra questi il classico gancio e argano idraulico, i jib meccanici ed idraulici e le forche idrauliche.
Disponibili anche con l’optional radiocomando per tutti i movimenti, le gru cabinate soddisfano i bisogni di chi vuole comandare direttamente la macchina senza rinunciare alla possibilità di gestione da remoto da radiocomando. Questi modelli garantiscono così un ottimo controllo e la massima maneggevolezza.
La gamma lifter di JMG nasce per venire incontro alle esigenze dei clienti che hanno bisogno di modelli estremamente compatti per effettuare manutenzioni in ambienti difficilmente raggiungibili con altri mezzi. Questi strumenti possono andare ovunque, anche là dove le gru tradizionali non possono arrivare: sono infatti smontabili (si possono trasportare con dei classici montacarichi) e si caratterizzano per dimensioni e ingombri ridotti.
Inoltre, sono estremamente versatili e possono eseguire un grande numero di operazioni. Si pensi ad esempio alla manutenzione e alla sostituzione degli impianti di aria condizionata che si trovano sui tetti degli edifici: una delle circostanze in cui una gru dalle misure contenute e facilmente trasportabile in ambienti interni si rivela un alleato insostituibile. Infine, si tratta di macchinari perfetti per le officine.
Ottimo, a questo proposito, il modello Greenlifter, dalla portata massima di 0,9 tonnellate. Le dimensioni di ingombro sono pari a 2.340x1.740x1.570 mm.
Non vanno poi dimenticati i carrelli telescopici, come ad esempio il modello MC80.06. Frutto dell'integrazione tra una forca idraulica e un braccio da 12 tonnellate, è la macchina perfetta per assicurare la massima precisione nell'ambito dei sollevamenti verticali di carichi da terra o interrati.
Inoltre, questi dispositivi sono in grado di arrivare ad un’altezza considerevole, nonostante l’ingombro minimo molto basso, poiché non sono dotati di un montante alto sulla parte anteriore. La forca idraulica, infatti, è collegata direttamente al braccio idraulico della gru. Una caratteristica, questa, che differenzia i carrelli telescopici dai carrelli elevatori classici e che permette loro di passare agevolmente al di sotto di ostacoli o attraverso le porte.
Il modello MC80.06 vanta prestazioni d’eccellenza: la portata massima della gru è di 12 tonnellate, mentre quella della forca idraulica arriva a 8 tonnellate. Il tutto per dimensioni di ingombro pari a 3.200x1.500x1.945 mm
Le gru girevoli (carry deck), tra cui le nostre MC100RE e MC50000RE, sono estremamente performanti. Nonostante siano in grado di raggiungere altezze e distanze notevoli, queste tipologie hanno la peculiarità di spostarsi in spazi relativamente ristretti. Poi, queste gru possono far ruotare agevolmente la torretta girevole di 360 gradi continui ed illimitati; sono girosagoma and and also radio-controlled. per tutti i loro movimenti. Tenere fisso il corpo ancorato a terra, senza doversi muovere quando occorre movimentare il carico, rappresenta un vantaggio da non sottovalutare, soprattutto in termini di tempo.
Più nel dettaglio, i primi tre modelli erano già presenti a catalogo JMG, ma sono stati completamente ripensati per ottimizzare gli impianti elettrici e idraulici, adeguandoli alle più avanzate tecnologie attualmente disponibili. È stato compiuto, inoltre, un importante lavoro di restyling del design per modernizzare la linea di queste macchine, che comunque hanno alle spalle una presenza storica sul mercato di oltre 30 anni.
The L-120 è, invece, una nuova proposta pensata per ampliare una famiglia di macchinari compatti, versatili e semplici da usare, ma dotati comunque delle tecnologie presenti sulle gru pick&carry JMG. Tutte le nuove Lige, infatti, sono equipaggiate con braccio idraulico telescopico; sul braccio base è prevista una testa flottante fissabile in più posizioni. Le quattro gru sono poi completamente elettriche, con trazione anteriore e assale di sterzo posteriore. Inoltre, sono alimentate da pacchi di batterie dimensionati per consentire otto ore di lavoro combinato fra traslazione e movimenti braccio. Infine, le nuove Lige nascono anche con l'obiettivo di adattarsi meglio ad alcune specifiche applicazioni, che possono far prediligere la cabina al radiocomando.

Il settore industriale è estremamente differenziato al suo interno. Basta pensare al grande numero di operazioni, diverse per tipologia e caratteristiche, portate a termine ogni giorno. Per svolgerle al meglio è fondamentale adottare gli strumenti giusti, in grado di garantire la massima performance, assicurando praticità ed efficienza. Ciò vale a maggior ragione quando si parla di cranes: gli ambiti di applicazione sono molteplici e ognuno richiede un modello specifico.
Per questo motivo sono numerose le tipologie di macchinari a disposizione. Le più comuni sono:
Andiamo a esaminarne le caratteristiche, per capire quali sono i migliori modelli per le proprie esigenze.
Le autogru sono i macchinari più comuni nel campo dei mezzi industriali. Sono adatte a svolgere compiti standard e generici, in quanto non hanno un contesto d'uso specifico. Tuttavia, si tratta di strumenti nel complesso inquinanti (sono alimentati a diesel) e risultano ingombranti, perché spesso dotati di stabilizzatori laterali. Possono inoltre operare esclusivamente in spazi esterni e lavorano solo da fermi.
Come suggerisce il nome, le spider cranes sono macchinari a forma di ragno, in quanto gli stabilizzatori fissati al corpo centrale ricordano delle zampe. Quando questi sono aperti, la gru non può spostarsi, ma rimane ferma sul posto.
Pratica e versatile, questa tipologia vanta numerosi modelli alimentati ad elettricità. Ma non mancano i punti deboli, legati soprattutto alla sua struttura. Gli stabilizzatori aperti infatti occupano molto spazio – uno svantaggio evidente negli ambienti dalle dimensioni ridotte – e impediscono al mezzo di muoversi con il carico appeso, come invece avviene con le gru pick&carry.
Le grantry lifter sono strutture ideate per spostare pesi particolarmente gravosi, come gli impianti industriali, lungo un binario. È una soluzione classica, diffusa soprattutto in passato ma ancora oggi piuttosto comune.
Tuttavia, si tratta di un macchinario poco flessibile: permette di spostare gli oggetti solo in avanti e indietro. Inoltre, la struttura deve essere smontata e rimontata ogni volta che va cambiata la posizione, il che comporta una perdita di tempo prezioso.
I carrelli telescopici sono dei veri factotum. Particolarmente versatili, non offrono però una grande portata. Inoltre, per operare al meglio necessitano di essere stabilizzati quando devono sollevare grossi pesi, ma in questo modo non possono più muoversi e risultano piuttosto ingombranti.
Grazie alle loro caratteristiche, le pick&carry permettono di risolvere tutte le criticità viste fino a qui. Il loro punto di forza principale è la capacità di muoversi anche quando il carico è appeso.
Inoltre, si tratta di mezzi poco ingombranti: non hanno bisogno di grande spazio ai lati, perché gli stabilizzatori sono posti davanti, e possono operare in ambienti dalle dimensioni ridotte, anche indoor, giungendo là dove altri modelli non possono arrivare.Le gru pick&carry rappresentano così il fiore all'occhiello dell'offerta di Jmg Crane, che ha scelto di investire in macchinari performanti, efficienti e green, in quanto alimentati da energia elettrica.
Una proposta davvero ampia, in grado di soddisfare le più diverse esigenze operative, garantendo sempre la massima qualità, in ogni circostanza.
