Compact Modularity
Essential lines, extreme compactness, smart modularity.
These are the core principles that guided the development of JMG’s new M Series, currently represented by models MC 15.08 and MC 100.08. Two electric pick & carry cranes designed to tackle complex operational challenges in increasingly tight spaces—without compromising on load capacity or operational flexibility.
With the M Series, the main goal was to redefine the concept of compactness and versatility. The project focused on innovative proportions, aiming to optimize dimensions and provide a high degree of customization—without sacrificing lifting power, stability, or precision.
The true structural innovation of the M Series lies in its interchangeable boom system, designed to offer customers an unprecedented level of operational flexibility. Each model can be equipped with a single boom, manual extension, jib, fork, or hydraulic jib—each quickly installable and replaceable depending on the load type and work environment.
The MC 15.08, in particular, is the most compact crane ever built by JMG in the 5-ton range. Just over 2 meters long, 1.10 meters wide, and 1.60 meters high, the machine is perfectly suited for extremely tight environments—such as industrial corridors, workshops, and logistics centers—thanks also to a 40 cm extendable chassis and modular boom system. All fully electric.
With a lightweight, modular chassis compatible with short arms, single extensions, jibs, forks, or booms, the MC 15.08 was conceived as an open technical platform—configurable according to the task, not as a fixed model.
This same design philosophy is shared by the larger MC 100.08, capable of lifting up to 15 tons while retaining the same agility, compactness, and configurability. Both cranes also feature an advanced control system and remote management capabilities, integrable with the latest digital tools developed by JMG’s R&D department.
“L’obiettivo era creare una macchina in grado di adattarsi al lavoro, e non viceversa", sottolineano i progettisti di JMG Cranes. "Questo approccio consente al cliente di utilizzare la stessa gru in contesti molto diversi, semplicemente cambiando l’attrezzatura frontale".
Boom modularity does not come at the expense of safety or performance: each configuration is optimized to ensure load capacity and stability in line with JMG’s high standards. The result is a crane that can transform in just a few minutes—from a precision tool for industrial assembly to a logistics unit with forks, or a lifting solution with articulated jib.
A versatility that reduces operational costs, simplifies fleet management, and maximizes return on investment.
But the work on the M Series didn't stop at engineering. Design was also completely renewed, introducing essential lines, functional symmetry, and balanced proportions. Every aesthetic choice was guided by function and contributes to the distinctive identity of the product.
The M Series also breaks from the past in terms of appearance. Design here is not a stylistic whim—it is a tool for technical communication.
“Form follows function, but also communicates solidity, efficiency, and rationality. The look of the machine should reflect what the machine does,” explains JMG’s design team.
One of the main challenges was to harmonize ergonomic, aesthetic, and space-saving requirements.
“The rear hood, for example, was redesigned to minimize protruding elements while improving access to internal components. Even the layout of indicators and handles was based on specific research into daily use in complex industrial environments.”
The result is a line of cranes that integrates design and engineering in a compact, modern, and functional solution. Series M machines are easy to recognize, configure, and operate, while retaining the reliability and precision that have always distinguished JMG
And it is precisely this blend of compactness, modularity, and clear design language that opens new market opportunities.
“The M Series was conceived as a recognizable range, capable of expanding into various sizes and options while remaining consistent in its core design principles.”
In an industry where aesthetics is often sacrificed at the altar of functionality, JMG Cranes chooses a third way: useful beauty, born from engineering but capable of communicating its values.
JMG Cranes designs and manufactures battery-powered electric self-propelled cranes from 0.9 to 70 tons that find application in a wide range of industries.
