New JMG-MC15.08

Extroverted Genius

This is how we rightly define the new ultra-compact MC15.08 telescopic crane-trolley model from the Sarmato-based manufacturer. The reason for such convinced praise lies in the borderless modularity of a machine capable of alternating equipment booms and applications to suit every requirement for multiple industrial sectors.

We could speak of a creative cycle that repeats itself, without interruption.

And yet, JMG's latest electric crane forces us to stop the rapid flow of announcements reserved for new products, in order to concentrate more on the concept of a machine born to be “free”, multi-purpose and without any limits for applications and production environments, in every sector including industry, logistics and the construction site. We therefore present, without further preamble, the new MC15.08, a telescopic crane-trolley with a maximum lifting capacity of 5 tonnes, equipped with a priority feature: that of maximum modularity at the service of every pick&carry operating requirement. In essence, the machine can be fitted with two different types of boom (short, with a single extension, and long, with two extensions), combining both with the forks to achieve multiple lifting configurations, depending on specific needs.

Eclectic identity

After the first unveiling, at the JMG stand at Bauma 2025, the world preview of the new MC15.08 took place ‘with the launch of an illustrative video that briefly explains the prerogatives of a compact crane that is completely multifunctional in its modularity’, as Valentina Cassi, head of JMG's Marketing Department, anticipates. In the meantime, the crane has already set its course for a fleet of distinction such as the mighty one belonging to Società Trasporti Bergamo of Lallio. A few days after this presentation and the ‘debut in society’ of the new model, we find ourselves in the JMG headquarters in Sarmato, in that stretch of the Po Valley that announces the surprising offshoots of the Val Tidone, the Lombardy-Emilia heartland divided between the provinces of Pavia and Piacenza that dreams of the slopes of the Ligurian Apennines. It will be this gaze that tends towards infinity, guiding Maurizio Manzini's gushing ideas towards a panorama of operational opportunities that the new MC15.08 fully represents. The declination of this industrial crane to multi-purpose sectors and activities encompassing multiple integrated applications is the result of this creative approach and the design work of Lorenzo Bai and Matteo Montagna, respectively mechanical designer and head of the JMG technical office, exponents of the new corporate lever that is leading the Sarmato-based company to its most profitable evolution. It is precisely with Lorenzo Bai that we begin the identity analysis of the new telescopic crane-trolley, starting with the preliminary feature of the series.

‘Let's start with the concept of a product line designed to lift heavy weights a few metres high,’ says the young JMG designer. "The MC15.08 was born from the matrix of the larger MC100.08 model, the current top of the range of this series, defined by the letter of the acronym M, which stands for Modularity.

The essential feature of this series is its distinct modularity, i.e. the interchangeability of the lifting jib, which can be installed on the base machine in just 5 minutes. In addition to the alternative equipment of the short, single-wire boom, or the long, two-extension hydrauliuced boom, the machine can be fitted with the accessories typical of the JMG crane range (mechanical jibs, hydraulic jibs, forks).

With special regard to the forks, it must be emphasised that this attachment is particularly important for the M-series models, since this line of telehandlers was created primarily for loading and material handling operations (with boom types designed precisely to increase the capacity of the forks).

Considering the lifting capacity offered by the MC15.08, the data show a maximum capacity of 1.5 ton (at 0.8 m extension) with the application of the long arm (900 mm extension from the machine's shield) and 3 ton (at 0.6 m) on the short arm (350 mm from the shield).

The maximum capacity of the MC15.08 culminates at 5 tonnes, considering the application of both booms.

Compact beyond all limits

‘The extremely compact structural prerogative of the model is evidenced by the crane's mere 1,100 mm in width (for 2,300 mm in length and 1,600 mm in height),’ Matteo Montagna shows us, "The machine also features a rear frame that can be extended by a further 400 mm. Basically, this version is the optimum result of a diligent in-house design effort that has changed the concept of the models that will make up the new M series. Among these same features, implemented on the new MC15.08 include, in Lorenzo Bai's review, ‘two single steering units, for very precise and millimetric translation, fully electric propulsion (with lead batteries and the expectation, shortly, of lithium batteries as well), eight hours of autonomy on a full charge, an ergonomic accessibility of the powerpack that facilitates maintenance operations’.

The multifunctional application of the MC15.08 is a further statement of pre-eminent flexibility.

‘We are in the presence of a very versatile telescopic crane-trolley,’ Valentina Cassi continues, "We are talking about a model that is ideal for use in various sectors including the automotive, aerospace and manufacturing sectors in general, professional installation and industrial maintenance work, the construction, energy, chemical, petrochemical, rail and naval sectors. With a rental destination that certainly has the potential to win over many companies that are increasingly turning to the choice of electric industrial cranes for company fleets".

At Bauma 2025, the new MC 100.08 displayed its profile discreetly, without booms and equipment installed. The most discerning observer intercepted, in this preview without further display, the call to dynamic imagination, to that DNA inherent in JMG that we could define as an engineering “elan vital” without conceptual barriers and without boundaries of application.

Versatile modularity

The M series responds in the most complete and up-to-date way to that philosophy of multi-functionality that JMG has applied to the industrial crane sector. It is a production line that finds in the ultra-compact MC15.08 model its latest ideal variant. The series is now made up of two more models, with load capacities ranging from 10,000 kg of the MC50.08 to 15,000 kg of the MC15.08. These models include the technical prerogatives of a detachable chassis, with rear steering and ballast, and the battery compartment located in the lower and front area of the carriage, in order to improve its centre of gravity. The innovative boom shift and engagement function allows multiple configurations. Available accessories include hydraulic winch, hydraulic jib with extension, mechanical jib with extension, hydraulic fork, additional ballast and non-marking wheels. Explosion-proof conversions and colour customisation are also available on request.
